Amanda is our Business Development Officer, as well as a Trainer and Assessor, at both our Macksville and Coffs Harbour campuses.
Amanda started her career as a Registered Mental Health nurse in Western Australia. On arrival to the Mid North Coast in 1992, she fell into aged care by accident, and this was the beginning of a career spanning thirty years in aged and community services in both WA and NSW.
From aged care facility to clinical care in the community, delivering Red Cross community programs to supporting mums with post-natal depression, the homeless, family carers and isolated seniors and even a stint as an Activities Officer for an aged and disability community service she’s built up a wealth of experience.
“My first job when I arrived in NSW was as a care worker at Autumn Lodge Aged Care Home in Macksville,” said Amanda. “I know from firsthand experience that providing quality care is both important and rewarding.”
Amanda specialises in training Aged Care, but she also delivers accredited First Aid and CPR skills.
As well as training, Amanda is our Business Development Officer. In this facet of her role she builds connections between students and local businesses, ensuring that our educated skilled professionals can find work in our local community.
“The thing I enjoy most about my job is watching a student become more confident. It’s truly a wonderful thing!”
