Course description (HLTAID011 Provide First Aid)
NV College’s First Aid course will give you the skills and knowledge required to provide first aid. The information can be used in your home or workplace, and it’s for anyone who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations, whether it be a snake bite in the community or CPR in your workplace.
Please note: It is a requirement that you are physically capable of performing uninterrupted CPR for at least two minutes on a CPR manikin placed on the floor in order to earn your certification.
If you successfully complete this nationally recognised training, you will be awarded the statement of attainment for HLTAID011 Provide first aid that is valid for three years and is nationally accredited.
Course time
There are two parts to our training at NV College. First, an online component which must be completed prior to class and secondly, the face-to-face training in class.
The in-person class usually takes 1 day, starting at 9am and finishing about 3:00pm.

Please bring some paper and a pen if you wish to take notes.
Assessment
During the First Aid course there will be theory and practical assessments to ensure that you have gained the required knowledge and ability to perform the skills in this unit.
